Based in and around Derby, I am an independent celebrant who is dedicated to creating unique and heartfelt ceremonies. What is a Celebrant?

A celebrant is the writer and officiate of your unique ceremony. As your celebrant, I will listen to you and work with you, in creating your vision for a ceremony that truly reflects your requirements.

I will support you in creating a truly personal service for ceremonies, including:

  • Funerals, Celebrations of Life, Memorials & Scattering of Ashes
  • Weddings & Vow Renewals
  • Naming & Welcoming Celebrations

Is a Celebrant led wedding a legal ceremony?

Currently, celebrants cannot legally marry couples in the UK, so you will need to legalise your marriage at a registry office. This can be just the two of you and two witnesses, for a nominal fee and at a time of your choosing. Registrars can only conduct a wedding ceremony in a venue that is legally licensed for weddings or in a registry office.

Many couples arrange their legal union in advance of their celebrant led wedding ceremony, and sometimes, it is not until they say their vows and exchange rings, in front of their family and friends, that they feel well and truly married.

How far in advance should I book your services?

As soon as you know that you require my services, please do not hesitiate to contact me. We will work together to plan whatever you need and I will dedicate my time to you, assuring you of my utmost attention. 

What is your process to book our initial consultation?

Included in all of my services, is our initial consulation (usually up to 90 minutes), to discuss your vision. I will take time to visit you, listen and respect the stories you wish to be told, when we honour your loved one, or celebrate your joyful event. I am able to meet via Zoom or other such means, to enable a speedy response. 

I follow a simple process:

  1. Press the 'Contact' button and send me your enquiry
  2. Upon receipt, I will email you and we will agree a date and time to meet, for our initial discussion.
  3. At our meeting, we will complete a short 'Discovery' questionnaire to find out more about you and your requirements.
  4. Once done, you are free to decide if you wish to continue

How much do you charge?

Prices for my services are itemised in the 'Prices and Terms' page. All services include an introductory consultation, usually up to 90 minutes. I recently lost my dad and I was recommended by the funeral directors about Ros. What a fabulous lady Ros is and how professional she was. Not knowing where to start for my dad's graveside service Ros took everything to hand. We spent quality time talking about my dad, and as we chatted Ros started writing everything down. My dad had so many different parts to his life, and Ros with great care and attention, put it all together beautifully. The service by the graveside represented all that my dad's life stood for and Ros even added some very special touches. With it being a graveside service and being in December, it was too cold to stand outside and listen to my dad’s eulogy so I asked Ros if she would come back with us to my dad's wake and read the eulogy there, in the warm for all family and friends to listen to.

What a fabulous eulogy Ros did, she put so much love and attention into it. We all sat there listening to my dad's life story which was told so beautifully by Ros even my dad would have been thrilled by it. Ros even added a special piece in the eulogy which was so fitting for my dad. What a fabulous beautiful service Ros did for my dad. From the notes Ros made while talking to me, to the draft Ros sent to me, to the day of the funeral, Ros put so much time into it to make it such a special day. Ros’ professionalism, true care and compassion was excellent. It was amazing how Ros, from the notes she made, made my dad's eulogy come to life. I can’t begin to thank Ros for all she did for me at such a sad time. Everyone that attended my dads funeral commented on how beautiful Ros’ services were and I know that my dad would have been so proud of it too.


Ros, THANK YOU so much for all you did before and on the day for me. I still have those lovely memories of the day in my head and heart and I know that family and friends will still have fond memories of my dad's funeral in their heads. I’m still getting lovely comments on my dads funeral over the last few weeks since his funeral, in conversation with family and friends, which means the love that Ros put into the service shows everyone what a lovely, fabulous, compassionate professional lady Ros is 🕊️🌈❤️❤️❤️❤️
