As the client, you have agreed to pay a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the overall fee (as stated in our contract) at the date of the booking confirmation. The remaining balance (plus any additional costs, as agreed) is payable two months before the date of your ceremony (as stated in our contract). If a ceremony is booked less than two months in advance, then payment in full is required at the point of a confirmed booking.

Provisional Booking

A provisional booking will hold your date for 7 days, after which the deposit fee is required to be received, in order to secure your date. If the deposit is not received, then the date will be released and be available for other people to book.

Confirmed Booking

A confirmed booking will be made upon payment of the deposit fee. No bookings for any other events will be made on the day of your ceremony.

Cooling-Off Period

You have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date you sign your contract. Therefore, should you cancel within this cooling-off period, your deposit will be returned to you. If you no longer wish to employ my services, I reserve the right to receive payment for the time spent in preparing your service.

Service Inclusions

• Our initial face-to-face consultation (or we can do telephone, email or Zoom, whatever suits you)
• Writing the first tribute based on our initial meeting and your questionnaire responses
• Multiple tribute review service (we will work within the timelines as determined by the date of the service)
• Presentation of your tribute upon completion of the ceremony and within a reasonable amount of time

Complimentary Services

• Exploration of additional ideas and personalisations
• Any associated materials to be paid for separately or sourced by yourselves
• Regular email and telephone contact throughout the build-up to the ceremony day

Travel

A travel allowance of 25 miles from my base, is included in my fee. Any mileage over 25 miles will incur an     additional charge of 45 pence per mile.

Accommodation

Should any accommodation be required, this will be charged separately.

Timescales

When your deposit and questionnaire have been received, I will work to the following timescales:

• First draft: within 6 weeks of receiving your questionnaire responses
• Second draft: within 2 weeks of receiving your amendments
• Whilst it is not impossible to make further adjustments, the draft will be completed and printed one month prior to the day of your ceremony

As with all matters of the heart, I appreciate that these timescales may not be achievable. Do not worry. I am flexible and will work to meet your needs. If you decide to employ my services for your ceremony, I am here for you and we can agree suitable schedules that suit you and your family.

In the Event that you Postpone your Ceremony

If you need to postpone your ceremony, please inform me as soon as possible. I will retain and honour your deposit or full payment, for a period of one month after your original ceremony date. I will offer you an alternative date within these timelines. I will amend our contract accordingly, and fulfil the service as we have agreed.

In the Event that you Cancel your Ceremony

Your deposit is non-refundable. You will be required to pay charges of any travel and/or accommodation costs already incurred by me. I reserve the right to receive payment for the time spent in preparing your service.

I can only accept a full cancellation up to 4 weeks prior to the date of your ceremony. In this circumstance, I will retain 75% of your payment as a cancellation charge to compensate.

In the Event of Cancellation by Me

On the rare occasion that I cannot attend the ceremony due to extenuating circumstances, I will source another qualified and respected celebrant to deliver the ceremony, passing on all of your requirements. If I cancel and am unable to find a replacement, you will receive a full refund.

Tribute

The tribute is copyrighted to Ros Measures Celebrant until the day of the ceremony at which point it is handed over to you and will not be used in future tribute writing activities. I reserve the right to retain any material used in any ceremony, in order to use as an example for other clients; however, it will not be duplicated.

Images and Testimonials

I may ask for your permission to use photographs from your service, either those that I have taken or that you have let me have access to, for use in the sole purpose of promoting my services either on my website or via social media. If you wish to leave a testimonial on my website, that would be appreciated, however, you are not obligated to provide either.

Confidentiality

All the information you provide to me is treated as confidential and I will not disclose any of it to a third party without your express permission. The content of your ceremony will be kept confidential, with the exception of any third parties I may include in creating your ceremony. Please refer to my Privacy Statement on my website.

Professional Affiliation and Insurance

I am a member of the Academy of Professional Celebrants and have Professional Indemnity, Public Liability & Product Liability Insurance, all at £4 million. Certificates available on request.
